Janette visited a university hospital for a second opinion and was offered palliative care chemotherapy, which only prolongs life for a short time. That was not good enough for the Crown Point resident.

In fall 2015, Janette learned she had Stage 4 Triple Negative breast cancer, a very aggressive type, which was also detected in some of her lymph nodes and her liver. After the palliative care chemotherapy recommendation, Janette chose to remain under the top-notch care of Dr. Kassar at Northwest Cancer Center.

“Dr. Kassar is wonderful; he fights nonstop until he finds a cure,” Janette said. “He fought for me, and because of him, I’m here.
